In efforts to promote national innovation ecosystem in Taiwan we were honored to co organize a webinar on ‘The Importance of Higher Education in Driving a National Innovation Ecosystem’, held on June 30th.
With guest speaker Professor Ron Robin, Chairperson of VERA (Association of University Heads, Israel) and President of the University of Haifa, Israel, who spoke of higher education and its impact on the national innovation ecosystem in Israel, as well as the strategies and methods for talent cultivation and industry innovation in Israel.
On the panel attended Dr Kuan Chung-Ming, President of the National Taiwan University, who further elaborated on the topic and highlighted the importance of industry collaboration, the use of humor and how the academia promotes Taiwan’s innovation system.
Also on the panel attended Audrey Tang, Digital Minister of the Executive Yuan, R.O.C, who shared information about government measures to promote innovation in education. Minister Tang shared views on collaborative data as a way to drive innovation and the importance of diversity to cultivate innovation.
The event was supported by the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (ISECO) and the American Institute of Taiwan (AIT). The representative of the Israel Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (ISECO) Mr. Omer Caspi, and the American Institute of Taiwan (AIT) Ms. Arati Shroff gave their opening remarks emphasizing the impact of education in driving the national innovation ecosystem in both Taiwan and Israel.
