Taiwan Ranks 6th in Global Entrepreneurship Index

Taiwan ranked sixth out of 132 countries in the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI) for 2016, two places up from last year.

Taiwan also led Asian countries as the most attractive place in the region to launch a start-up in the new year, according to the annual report from the U.S.-based Global Entrepreneurship and Development Institute.

The United States came in first in the report, followed by Canada, Australia, Denmark, and Sweden.

While scoring 69.7 out of a perfect 100 in the GEI, Taiwan registered 61.9, 65.9 and 81.6 in the three sub-indices of entrepreneurial attitudes, entrepreneurial abilities, and entrepreneurial aspirations, respectively.
